About ISaGoodBrand
An independent brand checker. We put the public facts about a consumer brand in one place, so you can decide before you buy.
What we do
For every brand we collect recalls, owner ratings, product-related lawsuits, company records, warranty terms and owner comments, each with a link to its source. A published formula turns the facts into one of four verdicts. See the methodology.
Where the data comes from
| Fact | Source | Link |
|---|---|---|
| Recalls | U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission recall database | https://www.cpsc.gov/Recalls |
| Lawsuits | Federal court dockets via CourtListener (Free Law Project) | https://www.courtlistener.com/ |
| Company records | Wikidata and Wikipedia | https://www.wikidata.org/ |
| Owner ratings | Ratings of each brand's most-rated products on Amazon.com | https://www.amazon.com/ |
| Store reviews | Trustpilot company profiles | https://www.trustpilot.com/ |
| Owner comments | Reddit threads that mention the brand | https://www.reddit.com/ |
| Warranty and support | The brand's official website |
How we stay independent
- The same formula applies to every brand.
- Brands cannot pay for a verdict, a position or a removal.
- We earn commissions from some Amazon links. Commissions do not change verdicts or the order of products.
- We do not test products ourselves and do not claim to. Owner comments are quoted verbatim.
How often the data changes
The list of Amazon recalls is refreshed every week. Each brand page shows the date its facts were last checked.
